“ Grey dog is always a reliable spot for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Food here is consistently good. Decorations are great here and there is some outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Wait staff is attentive and friendly. ”
“ New York restaurants need to stand out or create an experience for diners to remember, and more importantly, to cause them to come back. The Grey Dog did just that, with a homey Midwestern feel but the tight-knit, New Yorker style layout where you need to squeeze by other guests. High quality meal, good portions, interesting decorations, welcoming staff. Be prepared to wait longer than expected/they tell you (was told 30 min and ended up being hour). Plan ahead on a busy brunch day for a solid meal. ”
“ What a cozy restaurant... I was staying nearby and needed a drink and a bite to eat and luckily noticed they had a happy hour menu going until 6:30p... got a great deal on a classic margarita and appetizer of sticky nugs, and also order the Mexican Bowl with chicken. The sticky nugs are unique... they're kind of liked bite sized chicken breast in a sweet sauce. I do feel that looking at the menu this is probably a better breakfast or lunch place, but coming in after work was a great choice as well. ”
“ Such a fun place for brunch! Good atmosphere and great service! Would definitely come back! ”
“ After visiting the FIT Museum, we wandered in for lunch and were instantly charmed. The decor--including a working fireplace--had a quirky, inviting vibe. The place was lively and bustling, adding to the experience. The hostess and wait staff were warm and welcoming. We started with the beets and artichokes, along with the pistachio and avocado salad. Normally, I'd go for a meat dish, so I had high expectations and they were met! They were absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of sauce/dressing. My only regret? Cheerfully telling the hostess that a high-top stool table was "just fine." Halfway through the meal, my leg staged a protest and fell asleep--not a complaint, just a friendly heads-up for anyone else with similar issues! I'm a frequent visitor to the FIT museum so I will be back. ”
“ Went to sit down with a group of 6 and even though the restaurant was packed, the host did a really good job accommodating us. He was friendly, welcoming, and super nice, which set an amazing impression from the start. We were able to sit within 30 minutes, and service was quick despite the bustle inside. The interior of the restaurant is cozy and gives a nice homey feel, and the atmosphere is perfect for brunch especially on a cold day. The fried chicken and Johnny cakes were delectable. The cornmeal pancakes were so pleasant with texture and flavor that my partner was thinking about them the rest of the day. Personally, the fried chicken was not my favorite; however, I like that they used a different breading than what I normally see for a breakfast fried chicken. All in all, for the price point of being in NYC as a nice restaurant, the experience this meal was affordable and delectable! ”
“ I absolutely love this place. This is our second trip to New York and we come eat here atleast once. The food is wonderful and I love their coffee ! It's such a vibe with really cool decor. The service has been really good , I have no complaints. We've done breakfast and lunch here and everything is delicious ! ”
